The aim of these websites is to foster the interest and curiosity of a public of all ages about the evolution of species, a fundamental but rather abstract topic.

Concrete questions are addressed: What do humans and banana have in common? Why is it important to study the evolution of coronaviruses? What is the link between tyrannosaurus and chicken? Oh My Genes is a meme generator designed to show the percentage of shared genes between humans and other species. The scientific data is computed based on orthologs in the OMA database.

Try it out yourself, check out ohmygenes.org. And if you want to learn more about shared genes, genomes, and evolution visit lightofevolution.org.
